Hey there!
I am Katie Austin, a professional sports and outdoor adventure photographer located in Fayetteville, Arkansas and I’m so glad you stopped by. All my life, I have loved to write and kept spiral notebooks full of words about my days, so why not start writing and sharing on the internet? Here you will read about my love of running, my new found obsession with Southern food history and the stories wrapped up in that history, photography, and all the other daily goings on in my world here in Northwest Arkansas.
I was a full time momma before I discovered photography. I spent many, many mornings running many, many miles while trying to figure out what all those mysterious buttons and dials meant and what they did on the my trusty Nikon camera. I began as a nature photographer before moving onto sports and then finally mountain biking and trail running and gravel cycling photography - - - I guess that’s Adventure Photography? Anywho, it doesn’t matter because I’m never happier than when I’m belly down in the dirt and leaves alongside a trail capturing a bike race or a trail race. What started out as a suggestion from my husband, David, to figure out that seldom used Nikon camera we had in his office way back in 2012 has led to him discovering photography, too, and loving it as much as I do, and together we now run a full time adventure sports photography business, Kate Austin Photography.
We have two full grown children that delight us and make us happier than anything in the world. Meghan is married and lives close by, and our son, Joe, is in the United States Air Force and is stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi. David and I have been married for 35 years and, as much as we love our kids, we’re having a ball being empty nesters.
Thank you for stopping by!
Thank you!
