This week’s thoughts:
whether or not to join Substack and weighing the pros and cons. The pros are it’s free and fairly easy to set up. The cons (and there’s a few) are it’s basically another social media platform (even if the members don’t admit it) which is something I'm running away from at light speed; it isn’t really built for photographers showcasing their work; there’s a lot of “to read full post, you must pay to subscribe”, which really annoys me; and it’s just plain “noisy”. Maybe I’ve talked myself out of it? Maybe?
like I said above, I'm running away from social media at light speed, deleting my personal Instagram last month and I haven’t been on Facebook since forever, only keeping it for the messenger app to keep in touch with family (and my mom who hasn’t quite gotten the grasp that regular texting is the same as Facebook Messenger, but I’m cutting her some slack seeing that she’s 86 years old and rather stuck in her ways).
David and I were asked to shoot the city’s spring recreational programs this week and I discovered two things about myself: I love shooting soccer and I suck at shooting softball.
and last but not least, I’ve really zeroed in on my strength training and my running. Blame it on meeting those two ultra runners from a couple weeks ago, but everything has finally fallen into place mentally and I’ve been doing the work with a willingness that has been missing from my workouts these last few years. It feels good.
And now onto this week’s photos: a two day trail race, kids softball, kids soccer, adult softball and my peonies are fully bloomed out now. Hello, Spring!
